Chaiwali_Anjana of Srinagar Garhwal — lost her father but did not lose courage…..
A life full of deprivations and responsibilities received at a young age teach a person something that no school of life can teach. 34-year-old Anjana Rawat, awarded with the Veerangana #Teelu_Rauteli_Award, was made and trained in this school of life full of deprivations and responsibilities. The story of her struggles inspires the society. Anjana runs a small #tea shop on Waziron Ka Bagh Old PNB Road. Her father Late Ganesh Singh used to run this shop till 2011. With this, somehow the expenses of their family of five people were met. Anjana’s college life started with the struggle to come out of deprivations. She started dreaming of giving a new direction to her family and life. But destiny had something else in store. In the year 2010, her father got #throat cancer. Father was admitted to the hospital. Destiny made Anjana’s struggle even more difficult. For the family, Anjana started sitting in a tea stall. Running a tea stall was not easy for a college-going girl. In 2011, her father lost the battle of life. But Anjana did not give up. She continued her studies along with the tea shop. She did MA in Sociology and also obtained a diploma in MSW.
Anjana has handled huge responsibilities at a young age. After her father’s death, she got her elder sister married and made her younger brother stand on his feet.
Saluting Anjana’s life struggle, the state government has also honored her with the Veerangana Teelu Rauteli Award in 2020. Apart from this, various social organizations have also honored her from time to time.
After giving a large part of life to the family at a young age, now Anjana wants to move forward in social service through politics.
