International yog festival ends today Gmvn muni ki reti Rishikesh

The International Yoga Festival concluded today in Rishikesh, known as the Yoga City, with Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj as the chief guest. During his address, Maharaj highlighted that Rishikesh is not only the gateway to the Char Dham Yatra but also the international capital of yoga and spirituality. He emphasized that the region has long been a center for meditation, where sages and saints have discovered yoga and pranayama principles that have contributed significantly to human civilization’s well-being.
Maharaj expressed his gratitude to yoga practitioners, teachers, gurus, and storytellers, along with the officers and employees of the Tourism Department who contributed to organizing the event. He noted that Rishikesh has been a hub for yoga for centuries, attracting sages, mahatmas, and sadhaks from around the world.
The International Yoga Festival, held from March 1 to March 7 on the banks of the Ganges, aimed to reinforce Uttarakhand’s position as the global yoga capital. Over 410 participants from India and abroad attended the event, with 38 foreign practitioners joining the Yoga Mahotsav. Maharaj further stressed that Uttarakhand is not only home to the holy Ganga but also the birthplace of yoga, with both yoga and the Ganga symbolizing India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
