The spiritual air of Rishikesh grew richer on the occasion of Mahaveer Jayanti, as the Jain community of the city came together in a heartfelt celebration of faith, unity, and compassion. The festivities, centred at the Digamber Jain Panchayati Mandir on Haridwar Road, filled the town with the sounds of kirtan, bhajan, and collective prayer.
The highlight of the day was a grand Ratha Yatra, in which community members took to the streets of Rishikesh in a joyous procession, carrying the spirit of Lord Mahaveer’s teachings — of non-violence, truth, and inner peace — through the heart of the city. Devotees participated in the Abhishek of Lord Mahaveer with deep reverence, as bhajans and kirtans echoed through the mandir premises, creating an atmosphere of pure devotion.
Community President Kumar Jain personally oversaw the arrangements, ensuring that the celebrations were conducted with dignity and warmth. Addressing the gathering, he expressed love and devotion for the community and offered prayers for the peace and well-being of Rishikesh and all its residents.
