The sixth day of the International Yoga Festival commenced on a deeply spiritual note with a sacred Hawan performed at the Ganga Ghat by the Swami Narayan Ashram, invoking blessings for the day’s proceedings.
The morning sessions saw a rich variety of yoga traditions on display. Yogikamal Singh introduced participants to the disciplined Mysore Style of Ashtanga Yoga, while Swami Jeetanand Ji further deepened the exploration of Ashtanga Yoga. Yogini Ekta guided students through the precision-based practice of Iyengar Yoga, and Swami Akhanandanda led an invigorating session on Kundalini Yoga. Dr. S.K. Pandey, Yogi Ajay Rana, and Yogi Devendra each conducted their own enriching yoga sessions throughout the day.
On the academic front, Dr. Navdeep Joshi delivered an insightful lecture on the benefits of Nada Yoga in human life, later also presiding over the International Conference on Yoga. Dr. Naresh Chaudhary shared valuable knowledge on food habits and the benefits of Ayurveda in daily life, while Yogi Jaidevan offered a thought-provoking discourse on Yogic Science. A particularly memorable lecture came from Swami Atma Swaroopananda of the Munger School of Yoga, who spoke on the five bodies (Pancha Kosha) and human consciousness.
A highlight of the day was the Yoga Nidra session led by Yogi Gulshan Kumar, who generously shared his personal experiences and insights on Yoga Nidra with the attending students.
The evening cultural programme was vibrant and celebratory. A rhythmic Drum Circle Performance energised the gathering, followed by a soulful Hanuman Chalisa rendered through string music. Siddharth Joshi captivated audiences with his performance during the iconic Ganga Aarti. The crowd was also treated to a delightful comedy show by artist Ravindra Joni, bringing laughter and lightness to the evening.
The day’s festivities concluded on a melodious high with a spellbinding musical performance by the Badoni Brothers, and the grand finale saw the legendary Roop Kumar Rathore and Sonali Rathore enchant the audience with their timeless music.
A proud milestone of the day was the Heritage Walk, in which 56 yoga students participated this year, celebrating the cultural and spiritual legacy of the region.
