Yesterday evening around 6:00, in a public toilet located at Purani Chungi Haridwar Road in Rishikesh, the operator of the toilet, aged about 50 years, molested and made obscene gestures towards a 7-year-old minor girl living in Chandeshwar Nagar colony.
As soon as the information about the case was received, State Women Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandawal took cognizance of it
She said that this is a very condemnable and shameful incident, in the case, State Women Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandawal met the victim and her family today. He said that strict action will be taken against the accused. This type of misbehavior with minors is very sad and worrying.
He called and talked to SO Rishikesh in this matter and took information in which he told that the accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under POCSO.
At the same time, the President of the State Women’s Commission, Kusum Kandwal, has directed the Municipal Commissioner of Rishikesh Municipal Corporation, Gopal Beniwal, to deploy pink toilets in the city and female employees under them. He said that the Municipal Corporation officials should take cognizance of the fact that there should be only female employees in the pink toilets so that no such reprehensible incident can take place.
