Post card lover Celebrated Independence Day 2024 through Postcrossing and Philately!

Postcrossing is a global project that allows people to send and receive postcards from around the world. You sign up, create a profile, and then you can request addresses to send postcards to. In return, you receive postcards from other participants. It’s a great way to learn about different cultures, connect with people globally, and enjoy the art of postcard writing.

Participant  filled with immense gratitude for everyone  momemts bringing together a vibrant community of Postcrossers, philatelists, numismatists, junk (equivalent to gold) collectors, and antique enthusiasts. 🌟

In event participant get  opportunity to share and delve into stories that not only added to the spirit of Independence Day but also took them  deep into the rich history of Dehradun. It was heartwarming to see the enthusiasm and passion everyone brought to the table.

A special thank goes  to Satpal Gandhi Sir and Nature Science Initiative (Soumya Mam, Raman sir, Riddhima, and Apoorva) for their invaluable support in making this event possible. The session was highly interactive, with participants sharing their unique collections and the fascinating stories behind them.

Mrs tripti agarwal a renowned philatelist who gave an indepth presentation about philately and show cased her priceless collection of stamps, coins .  She won an international award in a virtual exhibition.

Participants share there postcards with incidence of india

  • A philatelic exhibit titled “Story of India’s Freedom Struggle through Postage Stamps.”
  • An internationally recognized exhibit on “Floral Melodies,” which won the People’s Choice Award.
  • Exhibits on the Olympics, Ramayana, Kargil Vijay Diwas, and the 100th Anniversary of the Kakori Rail Incident.
  • Special Edition Silver Proof Coin Sets on Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Colored Souvenir coin on Operation Vijay 1971, a silver Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Colored Coin by MMTC, and a recently released 500 Rupee Denomination coin commemorating 500 years of Rani Durgawati.
