Women Perform Special Ganga Aarti — Praying for Global Peace & Ceasefire

On the sacred occasion of Chaitra Navratri, the Rishikesh Ganga Aarti Trust organised a landmark event at Purnanand Ghat — believed to be the world’s first Ganga Aarti conducted exclusively by women. The ceremony was dedicated to praying for global peace and a ceasefire amidst rising international tensions involving nations such as Israel, Iran, and the United States.
A special Yajna (sacred fire ritual) was performed alongside the Aarti, with oblations offered specifically for the welfare of the entire world. Devotees gathered from far and wide with a single, united sentiment — that peace may prevail across all nations.
 The Spirit of the Yajna
Amidst a world gripped by war-like conditions, this Yajna was envisioned as a channel to disseminate positive energy and collective intention. The Ganga Aarti that followed filled the atmosphere with deep devotion, as the sacred waters of the Ganges bore witness to prayers for humanity.
️ Voices from the Event
Dr. Jyoti Sharma reflected deeply, stating that to end suffering, hunger, and war, a psychological revolution is needed — yet very few are willing to confront that truth. She noted that while the world debates peace, forms laws, and builds institutions like the United Nations, lasting peace remains elusive so long as people are unwilling to let go of ego, authority, wealth, and an unconscious way of living.
Hariom Sharma ‘Gyani Ji’, President of the Rishikesh Ganga Aarti Trust, observed that clouds of crisis loom over West Asia. He reminded all that to end external warfare, one must first resolve the internal conflicts within oneself — a message echoing the ancient wisdom of the Ganga’s banks.
He also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed India’s deep concern over the West Asia crisis, reaffirming India’s commitment to peace, stability, and the safety of its citizens.
 A Collective Voice Against Violence
The devotees present raised a unified appeal to the world — to uphold mutual brotherhood, love, and tolerance. Their prayers rose with the sacred fire and the flowing waters of the Ganga, carrying a message of hope across borders.
Participants included Acharya Sonia Raj, Poonam Rawat, Anjana Uniyal, Pushpa Sharma, Vandana Negi, Gayatri, Pramila, Rajni Rawat, and many others who lent their devotion and strength to this historic occasion.
