 Portals of Panch kedar open on Monday 20 may

Rudraprayag: The doors of Shri Madmaheshwar, the second Kedar amongst the Panch Kedars, will open on Monday, May 20, while the doors of the third Kedar Tungnath will open on Friday, May 10.

On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, after the Yagya Havan at the Panch Kedar Gaddi Sthal Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath, after rituals and Panchang calculations, the date of opening of the doors was decided by the Acharyas – Vedapathis in the presence of temple committee officials and right holders, while the date of opening of the doors of Shri Tungnath Ji was decided after worship and archana at the winter seat Shri Markandeya Temple Ukhimath, after Panchang calculations.

Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay has wished the devotees a Happy Baisakhi. He said that before the start of the pilgrimage to Shri Madmaheshwar and Tungnathji, the temple committee has started preparing for the pilgrimage.

BKTC President Ajendra Ajay has reached Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath to participate in the Bikhout Mela program of Shri Madmaheshwar Bhagwan’s ascension in the palanquin and to have darshan of the movable idol of Lord Madmaheshwar. Today, on the occasion of Baisakhi, Lord Madmaheshwar rides on the chariot and gives darshan in the Shri Omkareshwar Temple premises.

A large number of devotees reach to see the palanquin of Lord Madmaheshwar Ji. Today, the program for departure of the Utsav palanquin of Shri Madmaheshwar Ji to Shri Madmaheshwar was also announced.

BKTC Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh said that the preparations for the pilgrimage of Shri Madmaheshwar and Shri Tungnath Ji are being finalized by BKTC, for this, continuous coordination is being done with the district administration of Rudraprayag.

As per the program of opening of the doors of Shri Madmaheshwar Ji, the festive palanquin of Shri Madmaheshwar Ji will be seated in the premises of Shri Omkareshwar Temple on Thursday, 16 May. On 17 May, it will rest in Shri Omkareshwar Temple and on 18 May, it will leave from Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath and reach Rakeshwari Temple Ransi for stay. On 19 May, it will reach Gaudar from Ransi for night stay. On 20 May, in the morning, the festive palanquin of Shri Madmaheshwar Ji will reach the premises of Shri Madmaheshwar Temple from Gaudar. On the same day, on Monday, 20 May, at 11.15 am, the doors of Shri Madmaheshwar Temple will open in Cancer Lagna.

Similarly, the festive palanquin of Shri Tungnath Ji will stay in Bhootnath Temple from Shri Markandeya Temple on Tuesday, 7 May.

On 9th May, it will start from Bhootnath Temple and stay at Chopta. It will reach Shri Tungnath from Chopta on 10th May and on the same day on 10th May at 12 noon, the doors of Shri Tungnath Temple will open in Cancer Lagna.

In a press release issued by BKTC Media Incharge Dr. Harish Gaur, it was informed that the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will open on 12th May, Shri Kedarnath Dham on 10th May and the doors of Shri Gangotri-Yamunotri Dham will open on 10th May. The doors of the fourth Kedarnath Rudranath ji will open on 18th May. The doors of Bhavishya Badri Subhai Tapovan (Joshimath), included in the Panch Badri, will open on 12th May, on the date of opening of the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham.
