Rishikesh, Uttarakhand: A foreign national died on Wednesday following an incident at a hotel in the Tapovan area of Rishikesh. The woman, believed to be a Romanian citizen aged approximately 30–32 years, had arrived in the city on April 6.
Inspector-in-Charge of Muni Ki Reti, Pradeep Singh Chauhan, confirmed the incident. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. Police have informed the Romanian Embassy in New Delhi and are conducting further investigation into the matter.
Initial reports suggest the woman was experiencing mental distress, though the exact circumstances will be determined following the formal inquiry.
