 SDRF Rescues Delhi Youth Who Fell 200 Metres into Gorge Near Neergattu Waterfall

A 20-year-old resident of New Delhi was rescued by an SDRF team on Saturday evening after falling approximately 200 metres into a gorge near the Sunset View Point at Kyarki village, close to the Neergattu Waterfall area.
Information about the incident was received by DCR Tehri Garhwal at 18:56 hours. An SDRF team from Dhalwala, led by Sub-Inspector Narendra Rana and equipped with rescue gear, departed for the site within two minutes at 18:58 hours.
The injured individual was identified as Prem Kumar Thakur, son of Ashok Kumar Thakur, a resident of New Delhi. He was part of a group of 10 people from Delhi who had visited the Neergattu Waterfall. While the group had stopped at the Sunset View Point during their return, Prem Kumar fell from the parapet wall into the deep gorge below.
The SDRF team descended into the gorge using ropes and modern rescue equipment, reached the injured individual, and safely extracted him. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital via the 108 ambulance service for medical treatment.
