A massive workshop was organized at AIIMS Rishikesh on Monday with the aim of promoting evidence-based education in the medical field. During this, the chief guest of the program, Union Minister of State for Road and Transport Ajay Tamta said that the dream of developed India will be realized only when we are strong and prosperous in terms of health.
Organized under the joint aegis of Department of Evidence Synthesis, Central Library AIIMS Rishikesh and Wolter Kluwer Publishers, this workshop made doctors and health professionals aware about promoting innovative experiments of evidence-based education in clinical matters. Inaugurating the workshop, Chief Guest Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta described the contribution of doctors in the creation of developed India as important. He said that to save the lives of common people walking on the road, his ministry is also conducting public awareness campaigns related to road safety. He called upon the doctors to play their role in empowering the country by saving the life of every patient by using the latest treatment techniques in the field of health. Prof. Meenu Singh, Executive Director of the Institute and Head of Department of Synthesis, said that the Institute is playing its special role by making a big contribution in evidence synthesis. She said that the evidence generated by the work done in laboratories is very useful. She told the special importance of generating evidence during research work done in academic institutions. Prof. Meenu Singh told the doctors that whatever evidence they generate, they must get it published in the journal.
Ruchi Tushir, Vice President of Wolters Kluwer Global Growth Markets India, explained in detail the use of digital health tools and its impact. She said that Wolters Kluwer provides reliable diagnostic technology and evidence-based solutions that will enable the next generation of doctors, patients, researchers and healthcare providers to make effective decisions and get better results in healthcare. In the second session of the workshop, Sheenam Agarwal, Additional Director of Wolter Kluwer, gave detailed information to the doctors about getting articles published in the journal. During the workshop, the use of online digital tools like software up to date, discovery platform, Ovid etc. was explained in detail.
Coordinator of the workshop and senior librarian and information officer of the institute, Sandeep Kumar Singh, said that in the workshop, emphasis was laid on strengthening clinical decisions and evidence use through up to date action with Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). Along with this, doctors were also made aware about taking advantage through evidence tools, books, article publications and research etc. in the medical field.
During this, Dean Academic Prof. Jaya Chaturvedi, Dean Research Prof. Shailendra Handu, Prof. Sanjeev Mittal, Prof. Ashi Chugh, Prof. Rashmi Malhotra, Harsh Nagpal of Wolter Kluwer, Shoye Mishra, Saransh and Mayank along with various faculty members, PhD scholars, senior residents etc. were present.
