The gates of the world famous Gangotri National Park have been opened for tourists from today. Now tourists can visit Gartangli, Nelang and Gomukh Tapovan. However, movement on the track is obstructed due to icebergs at many places between Gangotri and Gomukh.

The gates of the world famous Gangotri National Park have been opened for tourists on 1 April. Gangotri National Park, spread over an area of 2,390 square kilometers, is known for the snow leopard. It will take time to remove and melt the iceberg. In such a situation, only mountaineer tourists can get permission to go to Gomukh Tapovan.

Apart from this, many wildlife including brown bear, black bear, Bharal, Agarali sheep, red fox roam in the park. Mountaineers from all over the world also come to climb the world famous peaks located in Gangotri National Park. In winter, from 1 December to 31 March, the gates of the park remain closed for mountaineers and tourists.
