Day of Ancient Wisdom, Healing Laughter, Sacred Song & Soulful Devotion
Rishikesh, Uttarakhand — The second day of the International Yoga Festival 2026 at GMVN Ganga Resort, Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh unfolded as a rich and deeply fulfilling journey — weaving together the threads of ancient yogic science, healing practices, Uttarakhand’s living cultural heritage, and sublime devotional music into one truly memorable day.
Morning Sessions — Ancient Science Meets Modern Seekers
The day commenced on an enriching note with back-to-back yoga sessions led by some of India’s most respected masters.
Yogi Dinesh ji and Yogi Vipin ji guided participants through a deeply illuminating class centred on Nadi Vigyan — the ancient yogic science of the subtle energy channels (nadis) that govern the flow of prana (life force) throughout the human body. Students from across the world engaged with rapt attention, gaining profound insights into this rarely explored yet foundational dimension of yogic knowledge.
Dr. Laxminarayan Joshi further enriched the morning sessions, offering his scholarly perspective on Nadi Vigyan and helping participants understand the deep connection between the body’s subtle energy system and overall well-being — physical, mental, and spiritual.
Laughter Yoga — Healing Through Joy
In a session that brought unbridled joy and infectious energy to the festival grounds, Swami Bodhi Vertman led participants in the transformative practice of Laughter Yoga — a powerful and unique discipline that combines unconditional laughter with yogic breathing. The session was a reminder that healing can be joyful, that breath is the bridge between body and soul, and that laughter truly is the best medicine.
Padma Shri Basanti Bisht ji — The Soul of Uttarakhand
The afternoon was graced by a truly special and deeply moving cultural performance by the legendary Padma Shri Basanti Bisht ji — the beloved and celebrated voice of Uttarakhand’s ancient Jagar tradition. Her soul-stirring rendition of traditional Garhwali poetry and folk songs transported the audience to the very heart of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural landscape. Jagar — an ancient oral tradition of invoking divine spirits through song — is a living heritage of the Himalayan region, and Basanti Bisht ji is its most treasured custodian. Her performance moved many in the audience to tears of devotion and pride. ️
Evening — Bhajan Samrat Anoop Jalota ji Blesses the Stage
As dusk descended over the holy Ganga, the evening was graced by none other than the legendary Bhajan Samrat Anoop Jalota ji — whose tremendous and soul-stirring performance brought Day 2 to a magnificent and spiritually elevated close. His divine voice, carrying the fragrance of pure devotion, resonated across the sacred banks of the Ganga — filling every heart with peace, joy, and a deep sense of the divine. It was an evening that participants will carry in their hearts long after the festival ends. 杖✨
