Meeting on promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda held in Rishikesh, emphasis on extending benefits of schemes to schools and wellness centres
Rishikesh. On the sacred soil of the ‘Devbhumi’ (Land of the Gods)—where the ceaseless streams of Yoga and Ayurveda have flowed for thousands of years—a meaningful initiative has now emerged to give this rich heritage an institutional framework. During a meeting held on May 8 under the aegis of the ‘Himalayan Ayurveda and Yoga Incentive,’ prominent figures associated with the fields of Yoga and Ayurveda gathered to engage in extensive deliberations aimed at securing an even more prominent position for Rishikesh on the global wellness map.
A primary focus of the meeting was the observation that the benefits of various government schemes and policies have not yet adequately reached the schools and wellness centers within the region. The members acknowledged that organized and coordinated efforts are indispensable to bridge this gap.
Those present at the meeting included Rajiv Tiwari, Swami Atma Prakash, Yogi Ram, Vedprakash Maithani, Yogacharya Sanjeev Pandey, Yogacharya Arvind Negi, Anand Bahuguna, Dr. Rohit Upadhyay, Dr. Anuj Negi, and Yogacharya Vikas Badoni.
Rising from the very soil of Rishikesh, this collective voice is today taking the form of a solemn resolve—that Yoga and Ayurveda shall not remain merely a tradition, but shall instead serve as a bridge connecting policy, education, and public welfare.
