Rishikesh: A person committed suicide by hanging himself in the prestigious Parmarth Niketan of the Tirthanagari area on Tuesday late evening. This area falls in the Laxman Jhula police station area of ​​the Swargashram area. The special thing is that on Tuesday itself, after attending the convocation ceremony at AIIMS Rishikesh, President Draupadi Murmu reached Parmarth Niketan to perform Ganga Aarti. The Governor of the state, Lt. General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh also came with her to perform the Aarti. As such, the entire area was declared a VVIP zone. Police were deployed at various places. It is being said that after her departure, late at night, a person named Lucky (40) committed suicide by hanging himself. According to police sources, the deceased was a staff member of the ashram. The family of the deceased also lives in the ashram. When Pauri SSP Lokeshwar Singh was talked to in this matter, he confirmed the incident and said that information has been received that a person has hanged himself inside Parmarth Niketan. On receiving the information, police reached the ashram and the person was taken down from the noose and taken to AIIMS where doctors declared him dead. Police has taken the body into custody and sent it to the mortuary for postmortem. The reason why the person hanged himself will be known only after questioning the family, ashram staff and after getting the postmortem report. Further legal action is underway in the matter.
